cornellcrestFreshman Emily Dean has emerged as a force for the Big Red in recent weeks, winning the 200 back in a dual with Columbia as well as the 100 back against Colgate … Prior to that, another rookie — Heather Miller — had been gobbling up victories in the 200 back, including a win in a tri-meet with Penn and Princeton … Senior Mary Cirella has been noted for her leadership skills which has been crucial for Coach Holohan’s young team … Cirella is also the team’s top breaststroker along with sophomore Meg Farrington … Another sophomore, Christina DiMaria, is the squad top butterfly swimmer … She has an entry in the Cornell all-time top five in the 200 fly … Junior Emily Caras was a surprise performer for Coach Holohan last year, earning most improved swimmer for her efforts.
