kilkuts trebles the 200 im

Princeton junior Courtney Kilkuts once again outlasted the field in the 200 IM, thanks in large part to her strong backstroke. The now three-time defending champion held off a strong charge from Yale’s Hayes Hyde and Kilkuts’ freshman teammate Jillian Altenburger.

With splits of 26.72, 30.10, 34.29 and 29.16, Kilkuts’ time of 2:00.27 was slightly higher than her winning time from a year ago (1:59.70), but was good enough for NCAA “B” qualifying time.

And an impressive third title.

She hit the wall .7 seconds faster than Hyde.
